Opening Ceremony & Flag Off
The opening ceremony will itself be a grand event, unparalleled in the history of the Pushkar Fair. A grand spectacle will unfold, cued by the unfurling of the National Flag.
A signature tune called the Pushkar ki Pukaar, created especially for this year’s Mela will debut across the festival.
A staggering procession will be orchestrated to commemorate the traditional Pushkar Mela including hundreds of brightly adorned camels & horses mounted by riders in vibrant traditional Rajasthani attire. Mingling alongside will be many singers and dancers lending a festive ethos to the procession, saluting the spirit of the Fair & its visitors. The festivities will thereafter be declared open!
The Harmony Half Marathon
Welcome to the second edition of the Harmony Half Marathon which met with a roaring success in its first edition held in 2016. This year the run will follow the same route of 21.1 Kms, starting from Dargah Ajmer Sharif and ending at the Pushkar Stadium ground. While the first edition witnessed a large number of participants, this year the numbers are expected to grow to much larger considering interest from not just Pushkar & Ajmer townships but from across India and even abroad. The half marathon kicks of at 6:30 AM on 28th of October, 2017.
The Holy Dip
The importance of Pushkar lies in the fact that Lord Brahma the creator, once performed sacrifice for creation of the universe. He threw a lotus flower to select a suitable site for the said ceremony. The flower struck at Pushkar and water sprand up from there giving shape to the sacred lake of Pushkar. Each year during Pushkar Mela, pilgrims throng to the lake to commensurate this event and the temple city comes alive with luminous adornments and religious activities.
Hot Air Ballooning
Pushkar is the only destination of its kind to host a Hot Air Balloon Festival. What makes it unique is the cultural, historical & mythological legacy that gets intertwined with the age old practice of cattle trading. This vibrant melee of colour, buzz, music, dust, stamping hooves, camel grunts, temple bells does leave many in a state of wide-eyed bewilderment.
It is indeed an astonishing site to view all this and more from high above on board on a Hot Air Balloon.
Sky Waltz Balloon safari organises the Pushkar International Balloon Festival. Guests can book hot air balloon rides or simply watch the over dozen International teams do mass ascents or view the Hound & Hare Balloon Races.

The Cattle Fair
The Pushkar Mela is synonymous with the cattle fair. There are camels, horses, cows, goats, and sheep - all decked up in vibrant hues to be sold and purchased. Proud cattle owners throng Pushkar, traveling across the golden sands from across Rajasthan to fulfill this age old tradition of the world’s largest cattle fair.

Elevated Sitting Arena
This year the Pushkar Fair debuts an Elevated Sitting Arena with specially designed tented viewing galleries for visitors. Crafted with comfort in mind, this arena takes into account all modern amenities visitors may require to enjoy their Pushkar experience. This includes a clean and hygienic sitting environment, comfortable settings, a lounge like atmosphere and unhindered views of all the action.
During the Pushkar Mela numerous make shift stalls offer a variety of traditional treats. For cattle there are items ranging from saddles, saddle-straps and beads to strings of cowries. With so many women around the Pushkar Mela showcases a gamut of traditional silver ornaments, bead necklaces from Nagaur, garments of patchwork, printed textiles from Ajmer, colourful Rajasthani fabrics and footwear alike – a haven for handicraft lovers !
